Martin brings extensive experience in nursing, research, and academia. He has been a Registered Nurse for over thirty years and has been teaching and supporting graduate nursing students for nearly twenty years. He teaches statistics, research, and evidence-based practice courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Schiavenato has published over forty articles and books, and he has presented his research nationally and internationally. He holds a US Patent and has multiple patents pending. His research work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Washington's Life Sciences Discovery Fund, the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
He has a PhD in Nursing from the University of Central Florida, an MS in Sociology from Florida State University, and a BSN from Florida State University. He is a graduate of RWJ's Nurse Faculty Scholar Program and the Pain in Child Health program from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
